Last year was my first full year self-employed, and it was more than I could have ever imagined! I met some amazing vendors who have become friends. I’ve worked with wonderful brands and companies I never expected I would have.
Ever since I was young, I knew I wanted to have my own business. I was never sure what it would be, but always thought it would be in retail. When my journey began with Paces Lane there were a lot of “what ifs…”
What if I made $500 a month as extra spending income?
Then it turned into “What if I sold X amount of products a month?”
What if I had a wholesale account with this company?
What if I sold X amount of products A DAY?
With each step, another “what if...” came to be, and each time, I wondered what would come next. Finally, the “What if Paces Lane was my full time job?” came up. I knew if I could work two jobs a little longer to test the waters, I could make it work. In April of 2016, just a day before my 26th birthday, I put in my two weeks notice, and the journey of self-employment began.
Playing the game of “What If” is one of my favorite ways to set goals. Dream big and then figure out what needs to be done to get there. They don’t have to be work related or practical.
What if I won the lottery?
You will see where your priorities are when it comes to extra income.
What if I could easily cook a three course meal?
Maybe it’s time to take a cooking class with your best friend.
What if I enjoyed working out?
Time to try a new workout until you find one you enjoy (Hey, it happens!)
It’s a fun way to stop putting up these boundaries you have set in your mind, and a fun way to figure out where to focus your energy.
I cannot thank everyone enough for their support on this venture. Here’s to 2018 dreams coming true!
