I just had the pleasure of helping throw a bachelorette party for a good friend of mine from Atlanta. Since everyone attending her bachelorette party was coming from the Atlanta area, a weekend in the North Georgia Mountains was the obvious choice to spend her last fling before the ring. We decided a trip to the Dahlonega wineries and a cabin rental would be a great early October girl’s trip.
Once our cabin was selected and rented, the hunt for wineries to visit began! A couple of the girls got together for a brainstorming session the week before the bachelorette. It was a great way to catch up, and also to divvy up some responsibilities so no one person was doing too much.
I was in charge of party decor and stuck with the wedding theme colors of the wedding, purple, gold, and white. A quick trip to Target left me a little empty handed on the purple I was looking for so I turned to my local Party City. I was able to grab a some balloons, a banner, plates, and a few hanging fans between the two locations to decorate before the bride-to-be arrived. Paired with some Bride Tribe and Team Bride cups we were ready to get our party on!
We decided on our main winery visit to be at Wolf Mountain Winery. We were able to get a lunch reservation at their delightful restaurant. Most of us either got a pizza or the Pimento Cheese BLT. If they don’t have a reservation available or you just feel like showing up, they do have a smaller menu for those sitting outside and in the tasting room. We chose to do a flight of 6 pours for $16. There were 2 sparkling wines, 2 white wines, and 2 reds. The sparkling wines were my favorite, but the Chardonnays were crisp and buttery as well. The view was unbelievable! We ended up spending most of our day hanging here and skipping the other vineyards.
Another beautiful North Georgia Winery to check out is Montaluce. Driving up you will feel like you are arriving at a Tuscan Villa. The restaurant overlooks the vines. They offer 3 different wine tastings - red, white, or mixed.
Whether you are getting away for a bachelorette party or just planning a girl’s weekend, the North Georgia Mountains in the fall are a great place to visit if you’re looking for a quick trip in Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, or Tennessee!
